Christ’s College Matches Played. PAST v. PRESENT. The annual Past v. Present cricket matches between pupils of Christ’s College and the Old Boys were played yesterday afternoon on the college ground. Matches were played with the first, second, third and fourth elevens. The firsts’ game was drawn. College making 190 for five wickets and the Old Boys replying with 114 for nine wickets. Old Boys heat the second eleven by 61 runs. The thirds’ game was drawn, and Old Boys beat the school by 27 runs in the fourth eleven match. Scores:— Christ’s College. R. C. For Old Boys, Bruges took three for 24 and Parsons two for 23. Third elevens—Old Boys (Jacobson 44, .Tessep 2(i) 176. drew with School (Howden 30, Matthews 27), 149 for eight wickets. For College, Hancock took six wickets for 24 runs. Masefield three for 44. For Old Boys, Ronaldson took two for 12 and Bloxam two for 15. Fourth elevens—Old Boys (J. G. B. Vernon 54, W. M. Everist 24) 160, beat College (Li. Rutherford 30, W. B. Thompson 29, R. S. Shield 24) 1 43, by 17 runs. For College, A. Rutherford took three wickets for 13 runs. Cowper took two for ten. For Old Boys, B. Donovan got four for 14, W. M. Everist two for 23 and V. Wilson two for 21. UMPIRES CHOSEN. Canterbury Association’s Competitions.
