PAPARUA COUNCIL.

Action Against Owners of Straying Stock. At the monthly meeting of the Paparua County Council Mr James Leslie | presided. The chairman reported on the steps taken in connection with owners allowing their cattle to wander. Satisfaction was expressed at the result of the raid on stock, and the clerk was instructed to continue the patrolling of the county. It was reported that in one particular district stock owners had now profited by the knowledge of the day patrol and were turning - their cattle loose at night. The Clerk was therefore instructed to have night inspections made.
