] Yacht Races Arranged for ; Saturday. The Canterbury Yacht and Motor- ' boat Club will hold a .series of five races on Saturday afternoon. The ‘ Banks Peninsula Cruising Club will open its racing season on Saturday ; with a race from Lyttelton to the New Brighton pier and back. Te Whaka Tennis Club. The work of top-dressing the Te ; Whaka Club’s courts and of improving ; the grounds generally, is now nearly completed. It is the intention of the club to open its season on November 17. Flannel Dance. An old-time and modern dance’ will be held at the Excelsior Hall on Saturday evening. The dance is being organised by the Lyttelton Volunteer Fire Brigade in aid of a fund to send a team from the local station to Blenheim in February to compete in the Fire Brigades’ Association’s contest. Personal. Mr J. W. M’Holm, Lower Hutt, who is on annual leave, is visiting Lyttelton.
