WEDDING.

Canterbury and West Coast Friends Present. WATSON—BEARY. St John’s Church, Latimer Square, was attractively decorated with arum lilies for the wedding which took place recently of Catherine, second daughter of Air and Mrs George Beary, Greymouth, formerly of Methven, and Malcolm Ewen Macdonald, second son of the late Air and Mrs H. E. B. Watson, Tai Tapu. The Rev E. A. Osmers (Methven) officiated, and Air Beary gave away his daughter. A model frock of magnolia satin cut on slim lines was worn by the bride, the skirt at the back being cut to form a long train. Iler beautifully embroidered tulle veil, lent by the bridegroom’s sister, fell softly over her gown, and she carried a sheaf of Prince Edward lilies, with a long trail. Miss Belle Beary and Miss Olive Beary attended their sister as bridesmaids, their frocks being of dusty pink and powder blue georgette respectively. From kilted yokes trimmed with white buttons their frocks fell in straight lines, fullness being introduced near the hemline. Half sashes coming from the side seams marked the waistline and were tied softly at the back. Their large straw hats matched their frocks and both maids carried shower bouquets of hothouse flowers. Mr Ernest Watson (Alethven), brother of the bridegroom, was the best man and Air Dan Petrie (Methven) was the groomsman. At the reception held at the Gaiety Hall, Papanui, the bride’s mother received her guests in a wine-coloured French marocain ensemble, the frock being relieved with fawn kilting. Her hat was to match and she also wore a squirrel necklet. Yellow roses formed her bouquet. The bridegroom’s grandmother was in a black ensemble with a black hat and carried a bouquet of hothouse flowers. When leaving for Auckland the bride wore a brown tailored costume with a pink blouse under a musquash coat. Her little brown hat was turned up with pink flowers.
