Mrs Clifford Thompson, Dannevirke, is staying with her sister, Mrs Percy Wright, St Martins. Mrs J. R. Sturkev will return to the West Coast to-day from a visit to Mrs Tyndall Harman. Fendalton. Airs F. I. Cowlishaw. Bristol Street, who has been visiting Wellington, returned home yesterda}*. Airs James Chaffey, Clarence Bridge, is visiting Airs J. S. Havvkes, Cashmere Hills. Airs James Ensor, North Canterbury, arrived in Christchurch yesterday to stay with her mother, Mrs A.. W. Andrew, Cashmere Hills. Airs W. A. Moore, Timaru, arrived in Christchurch yesterday on a visit to her parents. Sir Joseph and Lady Kinsey, Papanui Road. Airs Arthur Grigg. Surrey Hills, arrived in Christchurch yesterday and is staying with her mother. Mrs J Cracroft Wilson, Cashmere House. Airs G. Leslie Rutherford and Miss Betty Rutherford. Macdonald Downs, Hawarden, who are staying at their house at Sumner, will return home on Monday. Aliss Rita Thompson, Wellington, who has been visiting the Alisses Bertha and Jessie Forbes at Cheviot, will return to Wellington on Saturday night. Airs Robert Wright, accompanied by her daughter, Aliss Mollie Wright, of Wairarapa Terrace, Fendalton. is at present visiting her son and daughter-in-law, Air and Mrs 11. E. Wright, New Plymouth. Miss M. M’Alahon, New Orleans, who has been spending some months with her sister-in-law, Mrs A. P. M’Alahon. will leave on her return to the United States on Christmas Day. During the interval she hopes to visit some of the beauty spots of the Dominion. Airs W. H. Rishwell. Oakland, California, who has been spending several days in Christchurch as the guest of Airs A. P. Al’Mahon, Chester Street, will leave on Saturday for the West Coast. She will stay in New Zealand until next Alarch. spending the greater part of the time on the West Coast. The Te Waipounamu Council, assisted by several parishes and Sister Kate’s staff, will hold the annual garden party at the school grounds, Ferry Road, on Saturday afternoon. There will be various attractive stalls, and the Maori children will give their entertainment of pois, folk-dancing and Alaori games. Dr Ann Simpson, of Aberdeen, Scotland. who is particularly interested in child welfare, arrived in Wellington on a holiday visit to New Zealand by the Marama on Tuesday. During her stay in New Zealand she hopes to visit most of the. places of interest as well as studying the Plunket system as practised at the Karitane homes. Dr Simpson is a sister of Aliss Beatrice Simpson, on the staff of the Rowett Institute of Scientific Research, Aberdeen, who was in New Zealand on exchange two years ago.
