Dance Held in Parish

Hall. Nearly all sports bodies in New Brighton were represented at a dance hela last night in St Faith's parish hall. New Brighton. The dance was organised by St Faith’s Young Alen’s Blub for the purpose of making a presentation to Air B. Napper, who was injured recently at an inter-Bible Class football match. The arrangements were carried out by a committee consisting of Messrs M. M’CTee, N. Seaward, C. Seaward, R. Fitchett, F. Heald, L. Ballantine, G. Wear and S. Wroth. A Monte Carlo dance was won by Alisa Thora Shilstone and Air A. Venner. Music was provided by Miss Alaisie Ottey’s orchestra and Alessrs R. Fitchett and N. Seaward were M.C.’s. During the evening the Mayor (Mr E. A. AI. presented Air Napper with a wallet of notes on behalf of the members of the club. Tile presentation was made on account of Air tapper's bravery in rescuing a child. Donald, Hobbs, from the River Avon. At the time of the rescue, Mr Napper had his arm in splints from his accident on the football field. Mr Leaver said he hoped that the Royal Humane Society would recognise Air Napper’s bravery when the case was brought to its notice. Among those present were: Mesdames F- (r. Seaward. G. The anniversary celebrations in connection with the New Brighton Alethodist Sunday School were continued last evening, when the annual conceit and distribution of prizes won during the year took place. The Sunday School superintendent (Mr A. E. Lawry) presided over a good attendance. The plattorm was again occupied by the Sunday School scholars, whose singing was much enjoyed. Items were given by Marjorie Carmalt, Brian Dawes, Jock Leadley, Yoiande Smith, Dorothy Cant, Xola Cant, Fay Aliller and Airs J. Beilby. The chairman expressed the thanks of the Sunday School officers to the conductor (Miss D. Hull) and the organist, Airs W. G. Sincock, and to all who had assisted in the anniversary arrangements.
