THE SOCIAL ROUND.
Gatherings Held in Town and Country. FLAG 500 EVENING. An enjoyable flag 500 evening in aid of the afternoon tea stall at the fete to be held at the Burwood School was given at the home of Mrs Scott, Cosset Street. St Albans, on Monday evening. The prize-winners were Mrs Tull, Mrs Freeman and Mr Lyons, and consolation prizes were awarded to Miss Hardy, Mr Smith and Mr Freeman. Those present were: Mr and Mrs W. Scott. Mr and Mrs W. Tull. Mr and Mrs B. Boswell, Mr and Mrs J. Southward, Mr and Mrs Antin, Mr and Mrs C. Freeman. Mrs Doyle (West Coast); Misses B. and M. Hardy, B. M’Gilligan, B. Herman and M. Antin; Messrs J. Smith and R. Lyons. Sauce at Otira. An enjoyable evening was spent on Friday at a wind-up dance, following a series of six euchre parties conducted by the Social Hall Committee, in the Otira Hall. The funds go towards the Christmas tree for the children. Music was supplied by Miss Paget, and the duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr Lancaster. The winners of the highest aggregate were Mrs Youngman and Mr Husband, and the lowest Mrs Marquet and Air Youngman. Party at Upper Riccarton. To assist the “green house” at the forthcoming fete in aid of the sisters of the Mission Building fund, Mr and Mrs P. J. Dugan. Upper Riccarton, entertained a number of friends at an enjoyable card evening recently. Donations were received from Airs J. Twomey and Mr W. Perera. Euchre prizes were won by Miss K. Harrow and Air Robinson, and consolation prizes oy Miss J. Rosser and Air •H. Hawke. [he guessing competition was won by Air D. Withers. Those Present were: Mesdames P. J. Dugan. W. Rosser, J. A.
