STRUCK BY MOTOR-CAR.

Traffic Inspector Injured in City. Mr N. S. Batchelor, a traffic inspector, employed by the City Council was injured while on duty near- the Christchurch Railway- Statiofi last evening about 7.30 o’clock. / He had stopped a cyclist who was riding without a light and. while making an adjustment to the cyclist’ lamp, was struck from behind by- a taxi-cab and pushed some distance along the street. Mr Batchelor sustained injuries to his back and had to be taken to his home. He is not yet able to resume his duties.
