An appeal for the furtherance of Humane Education was made in the annual report of the Junior League read to the meeting of the Canterbury S.P.C.A. last evening. Jt was pointed out that the hope for future fair treatment of animals lay in the school children of the present day. If all boys undertaking farm work could be given a short - course on first aid to animals it would be a means of eliminating a tremendous amount of suffering until veterinary help could be procured.
