TWO GOOD PICTURES.

“ Advice to the Lovelorn ” and “ Blood Money.” Flawless photography and recording, combined with smooth and effortless direction, have been features of all the productions released by Twentieth Century Pictures. “ Advice to the Lovelorn ” and “ Blood Money,” which comprise the excellent double-feature programme at the Theatre Royal this week, are as outstanding as any of the pictures from this company’s studios. The acting is first-class, the casting is admirable, and there is a finish about the productions which marks them as something out of the ordinar\\ “ Advice to the Lovelorn ” is a solo effort as far as the acting is concerned. The solo is performed by Lee Tracy, who dominates the whole picture by his vigorous and breezy personalitv. He talks unceasingly, sweeping through the show in a verbal torrent of jokes and witty remarks. “ Advice to the Lovelorn ” gives Tracy a royal opportunity to give expression to his screen talents. This time he is a reporter who misses a big earthquake becatvse he is drunk, and is then, as a punishment. “ promoted ” to take charge of the “ advice to the lovelorn ” column But Tracy has original ideas about the kind of advice he should give, and his efforts lose the newspaper many subscribers, gain it thousands more, get Tracy into trouble, and incidentallv provide the finest combination of side-splitting coined} and fast-moving drama ever put into one picture
