WOMEN'S GOLF.

Play in North Canterbury Championships. MATCHES IX WET WEATHER. The annual North Canterbury Women's Golf Tournament opened at | Ilarewood this morning. A light rain 1 fell most of the time, making conditions unpleasant. The course was in good order but the greens were heavy. In the senior championship, for players of 18 handicap and under. Miss E. White-Parsons, with 86, had a lead of one stroke in the first round from Miss K. Johnston. Miss Yalmai Fleming, the holder of the title, did not defend her title as she is at Ileretaunga. The morning medal match in the senior division resulted in a triple tie between Miss White-Parsons, Miss Johnston and Mrs T. Armstrong, with 77 net. The second round will be played tomorrow morning:. In the first round of the junior championship. Miss K. Dobson, with 93, was three strokes in the lead. The junior medal was won by Miss S.
