New Brighton Trotting Club. SATURDAY’S MEETING. The following acceptances have been received for the New Brighton Trotting Club’s October meeting, which takes place on Saturday:—
Training Work at Addington and New Brighton. Trainers at Addington and New Brighton were busy this morning giving their candidates fast work for approaching meetings. The grass course at New Brighton was open. It was in a soft state, and the trestles were wide out. An estimate of the extra distance the horses had to cover was five seconds to the mile and the footing was reckoned to be four seconds slow to the mile. At Addington the inside portion of the track was decidedly soft, and trainers preferred to use the extreme outside, which provided good going. At Addington. Llewellyn’s Pride and Silver de Oro kept together while pacing a mile in Gay Sister and Cloudy Range were Indulged in a spin over ten furlongs. They took 2min 33 sec to complete the last mile. Rongo Mai, Iraq and Huon Voyage left in that order in a spin over one mile and a half. Rongo Mai made the pace for six furlongs, where her colleagues ran past her, and they went on to complete their task, Huon Voyage being first, to cross the line. He trotted the journey in 3min olsec. Iraq did 3min 54sec. Full Hand covered two miles in gmin 15sec. Trampfast and Rollo sprinted a mile in 2min 3 9sec. They did their work in the centre of the track. Chiming Wrack trotted a mile and a half in 3mln 59sec. Paragon left a mile and a quarter behind in 3min 30 2-ssee. Wild Wrack accompanied him over the last mile. Tempest paced two miles in smin Little Reta’s task was a mile and a half in 3min 54sec. Fairyland, Norman Fox, Desert Maid and Gaynor left on a mile and threequarters journey. Fairyland and Norman Fox were responsible for the pace Maiden and Norman Fox drew away from their companions to register 4min Both Well. Mountain Dell and Indianapolis were stepped out over a mile and a quarter. Mountain Dell made most of the running. but Indianapolis drew up to her in the straight and they finished on Agile and Little Victor negotiated a mile and a quarter in 3min 8 2-ssec. Somerby dashed over one mile and a quarter in 3min 10 2-ssec. Walter Wrack gave a good exhibition over one mile and a half, which lie left behind in 3min 54see. Dundee gave Sylvia Sydney several lengths start and heat her at the conclusion of a mile and a quarter which Dundee did in 3min 1 sec. Ezywurk was indulged in a mile and a half essay which occupied 3min 43sec. AT NEW BRIGHTON. Llewellyn’s Pet and Billy Sundy went a mile. They kept together until within a furlong of home, where Billy Sundy went to a break. Llewellyn’s Pet completed V«r assignment in 2min 2Ssec\ and BiPj Sundy took 2min 33 sec. Great Brigadier and Ironside were companions over one mile, which Ironside covered in 2min 21 l-ssec. Chiming Day and Our Fay left, the mile and a half post six seconds in front of Esther. Chiming Day made all the running, and got to the four furlong disc in imin 1 ssec, and was down at the mile post in 2min 33 4-ssec. At this stage Esther was within three, seconds of them. But from there on Chiming Day and Cur Fav drew awav from her, and Chiming Day reached the winning post a length in front of Our Fay. Chiming Day recorded 3min 4 4 sec and Esther 3m in 4 2 sec Sky Wink led out from the mile and a quarter st.ati.on with Moana Tama. Golden Cross, Coral Prince, Rutli Logan. Li I Guy and Wise Guy following in that order. There was iittle change in the order until a mile had been completed. where Wise Guy and Lil Guy improved their positions. In a dash
down the straight. Sky Wink held his opponents, and passed the Judge’s box a head in front of Moana Tama, with Cross, Rut ii Logan, Wise Guy. Cuy and Coral Prince just behind them.
