BICYCLE THEFTS.
Youths Sentenced at Wanganui. per Fr«>ss Association. WANGANUI,.JuIy 21. There has been an epidemic of bicycle thefts in Wanganui by youths, and a number of motor-cars have been by the youths to their own Five 3 r ouths came before .the Court this morning and Detective Walsh said that he could not speak too strongly regarding bicycle thefts which were easy to coihmit. He asked the Magistrate (Mr Salmon) to impose a deterrent sentence. Colin George Coneybeer, described as the ringleader of the gang, was sentenced to three years’ Borstal detention. Frank Joseph Luff and Reginald Stephen Parkin were placed on probation for twelve months, Wilfred David Pullen Trow for one month, and Colin Henry Hickman for three months.
