WRESTLING.
Harry Mamos to Meet Oki Shikina. At a meeting: of the Match Committee of the Canterbury Wrestling Association Mr A. P. Craig presided. Confirmation was received from the Wrestling Union of the match between Harry Mamos, of Greece, and Oki Shikina. of Japan, to be held at St James’ Theatre next Wednesday evening. It was decided that half the contest should be decided under catch-as-catch-can rules and the other half under jiu-jitsu, in which th© contestants will wrestle in jackets. Among the four amateur preliminaries to the international match will be a heavy-weight contest between the Canterbury champion, D. G. Simpson, and D. J. IJoyd, who, until injured, gave his opponent such a hard match at the last amateur championships. The light-weight amateur champion. Joe P. Genet, will also meet an improved opponent in Sam Todd. In the welterweight division, T. E. Calder will meet H. S. Batchelor, and M. Lungevie will meet P. T. Brooks. As an emergency bout, the association has arranged for a middle-weight contest between G. L. Asher and F. A. Logie. All tickets, including reserves, are now obtainable at Lange's. United Service Buildings. Boors will open at 7 p.m., from which time early patrons will be entertained by the lanthe Orchestra, and a session of community singing will be led by that popular artist, George Titchener. WRESTLING BOUT. Per Press Association. NAPIER. July 21. In an evenly contested professional wrestling match last night, Anton Koolman retained the light heavyweight title against Mark Antunovich. Koolman secured a fall in the seventh round after a dump.
