Dear Sir, —The New Brighton Borough Council has been approached on several occasions to do necessary work in the borough, but in almost every instance the Progress Leagues which have made the applications have been informed that the council has not got the money. On top of this we see that they propose to purchase a cash register at a cost of approximately £3OO. I think that it i« time that the ratepayers woke up to the position and asked the Mayor or the Progress Leagues to call a public meeting to see which is most important, a cash register or good roads’.—l am, etc., BRIGHTONITE.
