WILL NOT RESIGN.
Hon. A. Hamilton to Have Rest. OTHERS TO DO HIS WORK. (“ Star ” Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON. July 21 The lion Adam Hamilton is not resigning frem the Ministry. This announcement was made by Mr Forbes after a Chbinct meeting to-day. Mr Forbes said that Mr Hamilton had undergone a further medical examination and had expressed the wish to be relieved of his portfolios lor a month cr two. -lie felt a rest he would be able to resume his duties. In the meantime, said Mr Forbes, Mr Hamilton’s portfolios would be distributed among the other members of the Cabinet and it was not the intention of the Government to appoint a new Minister, or to increase the strength o# the Ministry. The Government has not yet decided who will tskc the portfolios. “ The country was run all right while Mr Masters and myself were at Home at the World Economic Conference.” said Mr Forbes. and we think we can carry on efficiently while Mr Hamilton is recuperating.”
