Opperman Cycles 1000 Miles in 73 Houri 55 Minutes.
United Press Assn. —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received July 20, 11.10 a.m.) LONDON, July 19. Hubert Opperman, after resting at John o’ Groats, continued his attempt on the 1000-mile record. He encountered heavy fogs and was buffeted throughout the night. He eventually covered 1000 miles in 73 hours 55 minutes, reducing the record by 9 hours 43 minutes.
