PARISHIONERS’ DANCE.

Funds for Roman Catholic School.

A highly successful dance, the culmination of a series of gatherings Organised to assist the schools’ maintenance fund, was held in the Roman Catholic Cathedral parish hall last evening. The arrangements were, in the hands of a committee comprising the following:— Mesdames D. Hall, A. Aspell, W. Rodgers, J. Barrett, P- Foley, J. Beck and L. Scanlon, Misses Dorothy Hall, Kathleen Grimes, Kathleen Mahoney, Helen Riely, Patricia Brophy, Molly Shea and M. Cunneen, Messrs H. Gillum, E. Holland, J. Gillespie. W. Ives. W. Hickey, J. Sheehan, E. Kean and V. O'Connell (honorary secretary). The decorations Of the hall were effectively carried out—a scheme of bright paper flowers and foliage on trellis work harmonising with streamers and coloured lights. George Bradford’s orchestra supplied the music, During the evening his Lordship Bishop Brodie spoke on the efforts made recently to raise funds and paid a tribute to Father P. Timoney, w'ho had organised the recent bazaar and sale of .work. It was due, the Bishop said, to the organisation of Father Timoney and to the enthusiasm of the workers that the financial results of the work had been so successful, the sum of almost £7<j>o being received. Father Timoney briefly thanked those who had helped to make tils bazaar and dance a success. Among those present were:—Mesdames W. Rodgers. O. Hogan, M’Neill, L. Pearce, Stretch, Scanlan.
