Sydenham Club’s Plans for Walking Race. The sub-committee of the Sydenham Amateur Athletic Club appointed to make arrangements for the proposed long-distance road walking race met recently. Betters were received from Napier and Greymoi'th inquiring for particulars. A discussion took place whether sufficient support would be forthcoming to ensure a successful race. it was decided to circularise all athletic clubs and similar sports bodies to ascertain what ►support was likely for the event. Those present were Messrs W. Calderwood (chairman), R. Willis, R. Hill and W. Dukes.
