WINTER SHOW.
“One of the Best Yet,” Says Chairman. ‘‘Undoubtedly tl coming Winter Exhibition will be one of the best y"et held, judging by the support which has already been received,” said Mr A. M. Hollander, chairman of the executive, this morning. He added that space was being booked up in greater lots than had been anticipated, and several new and interesting features would be added. Indications pointed to a large display of working models by Christchurch firms which had not hitherto exhibited. One firm in the city, for instance, had taken 900 feet oi space, and several other manufacturing industries had indicated that they would be represented.
Entries in the home industries section will close to-day. Miss F. L. Cooper, of Hereford Street, who is supervising that portion of the exhibits, said that the entries were well up to the number of those received in previous y r ears.
Although the Canterbury A. and P. Association is not officially taking part in this year’s exhibition, provision has been made for the exhibiting of much farm and garden produce grown or produced on a single farm, for which entries will close on July 28 with the organiser, Mr E. H. Marriner. Next year it is intended to cater for all classes of farm and dairy produce at the exhibition, and the executive will welcome suggestions from farmers and others as to the most suitable classes to be included.
