DEFENCE PLAN.

Students Opposed to More Expenditure. Per Press Association. WELLINGNTON, July 17. Their opposition to the stated policy of the New Zealand Government in deciding to increase expenditure for purposes of defence, was expressed by Victoria College students in a motion passed to-night at a meeting convened by the College Labour Club, to determine the student attitude toward war. Speakers representing various student activities addressed the meeting, after which a motion was carried by a large majority affirming th e meeting’s opposition to the war preparations of the New Zealand Government, and agreeing that the motion be forwarded to the Prime Minister and the newspapers.
