STAFF’S ANNUAL BALL.

Messrs J. J. Niven and Co.’s Employees.

WELL-ARRANGED DANCE. A well-organised dance was that held last evening at the Winter Garden by tfie staff of Messrs Jas. J. Niven and Co., Ltd., who entertained a number of their friends in this pleasant fashion. The dance programme included several novel and popular numbers, and a balloon shower added to the gaiety of the evening. An exhibition of ballroom dancing was given by Mr and Mrs Leo Bowden. Music for dancing was supplied by the Bailey Marston Orchestra. The guests of hoiv our were the manager, Mr A. C. Mitchell, Mr and Mrs lan Gunn, and Mr and Mrs George Cox. Mrs Gunn wore an uncommon frock of black velvet, the bodice being formed of gold lame panels, caught into a necklet of black velvet and gold flowers. Mrs Cox was in burgundy red windswept satin with a fur trimmed coatee to tone. Members of the committee were; Misses Nancy Betts, Daisy Stuart and Winifred Barrett. Messrs E. Boyle, G. Davis (honorary treasurer) and E. J. Davis (honorary secretary). Miss Betts was wearing daffodil velvet with spray cf freesias on the shoulder; Miss Stuart’s frock of elm green satin had a pointed faconne yoke and little cape sleeves; Miss Barrett wore ’ frog-green faconne velvet with a ’ matching coatee trimmed with, beige 1 fur.
