Many places in Ireland begin with “ kill.” There is Killboy (for all Irishmen are called boys) ; and, what is more unmanly, there is Killbride; Killbaron, after the landlords; Killbarrack, after the English soldiers: Killcrew, for the navy; Killbritain, for the English proprietors; Killcool, for deliberate murder; and Killmore.
