HISTORICAL ROMANCE.
Frank Collier as “Colonel Blood.”
“ Colonel Blood ” heads the entertaining programme at the Theatre Royal this week. Historical films will always attract large audiences, and if they are up to the high standard set by “ Colonel Blood ” the producers need have no fear of losing the patronage of the public. Outstanding in a great cast is Frank Cellier as Colonel Blood. His nimble wit and never-ceasing flow of humour win the approval of the audience from the outset. He is a fine swordsman and in one scene gives a great exhibition of this almost forgotten art. The star is ably supported by Anne Grey (Lady Castlemaine). “ Cinesound Varieties,” the supporting feature, is an Australian production, and something unique in pictures. It opens with excellent views of Sydney and its majestic bridge. Splendid vaudeville acts are worked in, and, in addition, the popular Tom Katz Saxophone Band also appears.
