MELBOURNE CENTENARY.

SYDNEY, June 26. Mr Sidney Meyer, a member of the Melbourne Centenary Council, who is visiting Sydney, expressed the opinion that more than 100,000 persons would attend the centenary celebrations at the official opening in Melbourne on October 18. It is expected that 300.000 will witness the dedication of the Shrine of Remembrance by the Duke of Gloucester on November 11. Race clubs are providing £IOO,OOO in prize money for meetings during the celebrations.
