PERSONAL ITEMS.

Mrs 11. P. Lawry, Knowles Street, returned yesterday from a visit to Feilding and Wellington. Miss Nancy Howell, Grey Road, Timaru, is visiting her aunt, Mrs C. H. Morland, Papanui Road. Mrs W. G. Chartris, Wellington, will arrive in Christchurch to-morrow to spend a long holiday. Mrs R. T. Pope, Kaikoura, is expected to arrive in town next Saturday to visit her daughter. Mrs Walter B. Harris, Andover Street. Mrs A. E. Cooper and Miss Doris Cooper, Cashmere Hills, will leave Australia on Monday on their return to New Zealand. Mrs J. Swan, Kelburn, Wellington, will arrive in Christchurch to-morrow morning on a visitf to her parents, Mr and Mrs George M’Leod, Fendalton. Mrs Harman Reeves, Dunedin, and her daughters are at present visiting Wellington. after spending several weeks in Auckland. Miss Peggy Clowes, Merivale, who has been staying with friends in Wellington, returned home 3-esterday morning. Mrs Bruce Douglas, “Glenesk,” Greta, will arrive in Christchurch at the end of this week and will stay with her mother, Lady Clifford, “ Avonholme,” Fendalton. The Christchurch Technical College Old Bo}-s’ annual Rugby dance will be held in the College Hall, Barbadoes Street, next Saturday evening. Shackel’s orchestra will supply the music. Mrs E. A. W. Henley, ,Napier, with her son, Mr W. E. Henley, and Miss Winnie Barns-Graham, Gisborne, went to Wellington on Sunday to see Mr Henley off to England yesterday by the Port Napier. Mr T. N. Horsley, Mrs C. Horsley, and Mrs Palmer, Christchurch, were in Wellington during the week-end. Mrs C. Horsley has returned home, and Mrs Palmer and Mr Ilorsley went on to Auckland. Miss Anne Morris, England, who has been spending some months church with her grandmother, Mrs John Anderson, “Inveresk,” Armagh Street, will leave on July 7 for Auckland to catch the Niagara to Sydney. She will spend a few days with friends in Sydney before sailing for England by the Orsova.
