‘‘lf evolution is a means whereby all life came to the stage where it is now, wh- do you tolerate the present teachings of the Church ? ” was a question submitted to Professor J. Shelley before his lecture on “ Eugenics and Morals ” at Canterbury College last evening “ The answer to why I tolerate the teachings of the Church.” said Professor Shelley, “is because I am tolerant. T detest intolerance. Evolution is merely the idea of causality applied to life. If you ask me how evolution came about, well, even the evolutionists can’t tell you that." he concluded.
