STUDENT CARPENTERS.
Protest Made to College Board. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 2G. At a meeting of the Technical College Board of Governors strong objection was taken by the Trades Council to students doing practical building work on a sports pavilion while there was so much unemployment in the building trade. The chairman said that the work/on the roof and the plumbing would be done by outside labour. The director said it was first suggested that the work should be let by contract, but it was decided that it would be of great value to boys in practical training. A motion that in future all work should be done either by contract or day labour was lost.
