a sermon in connection with the National Peace Congress at Birmingham. He emphasised his ardent desire for universal disarmament and added that if such attempts failed he would have Britain disarm and trust for safety to a policy of international righteous-
ness. “ I would give India self-government, withdrawing all control except for the maintenance of order during the transition period,” he said.
