BOWLING.

Opawa Club’s Annual Meeting. At the r.nnual meeting of the Opawa Bowling Club the president (Mr F. C. Robbins) presided over an attendance of about 50 members. The annual report indicated that the club had experienced a very successful year, with a steadily Increasing membership. ' The balance-sheet showed that the bank overdraft had been reduced by £3B and it was anticipated that the overdraft would be wiped out altogether in the near future. The club’s land and buildings are its own property and are free of encumbrance of any kind. Officers were, elected as follows: President. Mr A. F. Rollinson; vicepresidents. Messrs W. T. Treguriba and \ J Wickes; treasurer. Air A. E. Talbot: secretary. Mr W. T. Tregurtha; general committee. Messrs Hunter, Harrington, Allison. W. Haigh and Copeland; auditor. Air IT. A. Bruce; match committee. Messrs Vogel. Robbins and C. Poulton; centre delegate. Air A. F. Rollinson: green superintendent, Air E. Munns: trustees. Messrs IT. A. Bruce and Stean.s; social committee, Messrs Vinsen and Timbs: finance committee, Alessrs Rollinson, Talbot and Hillary: mid-week committee. Alessrs Harrington. Vinsen and Paterson; delegate to croquet section. Mr E. G. Rawnsley. Trophies were presented as follows; Champion singles: Rollinson. Champion pairs: E. Munns anrl Rollinson. Champion rinks: J. Haigh. A. Munns, E. Munns and Rollinson. Handicap singles: C. Poulton. Flandicap doubles: Tennent and Lee. Handicap rinks: Billens, O’Brien. A. Munns and Allison. Progressive doubles and rinks: Wickes. A. Munns. Paterson. Eastwood. Allison, \V. Haigh. Worsley. J. Haigh. Tregurtha, Hargreaves and Timbs. Closing day rinks: Copeland, Weakley, Sansom and Rutledge. It was decided to limit the club’s membership to 85. The difficulty of obtaining playing accommodation for members at. Easter on account of the greens being requisitioned by the Centre for its annual tournament was discussed, and it was decided to write to the Centre recommending that each club be allowed the use of its green for one clear day during the Easter period.
