Incident on Cruise.
Damages Awarded to Tourist. of £l2O -were awarded by Mr Justice Atkinson, at Liverpool Assizes to Nlr John Macreight Mecredy, aged 52, a cruise passenger in the liner Voltaire last May Mr Mecredy brought an action for damages for personal injuries against the Liverpool, Brazil and River Plate Steam Navigation Company, owners of the vessel, v.’hich was managed for the cruise by Lamport and Holt, Ltd Mr F. E. Pritchard, for Nlr Mecredy, said that he met with an accident at the ship’s swimming pool. He was taken to his cabin and lay semi-conscious for three days, his recovery being impeded by the actions of a cabin companion, who was constantly inebriated and came into the cabin in the early hours of the morning creating a disturbance.
