Karitane Hospital Guinea Appeal.
The members of the Plunket Soc-ietv throughout Canterbury have responded most generously to the appeal of the Christchurch committee for help in reducing the overdraft of the Karitane Baby Hospital bank account. Although the campaign, which was called the Karitane Hospital Guinea Appeal, was commenced only in April, already the following branches and s-üb-branches have sent in donations, ranging from one guinea to over twenty guineas:—Lyttelton, Temuku and Ashburton branches, and Cust, Marshland, Dunsandel, Hororata, Sheffield, Kaiapoi, Wool-ston-Linwood. Waipara-Omihi, Oxford, Ilanmer Springs, Shirley-Rkhmond, Kir wee. Akuroa. Sefton, Opawa-St Martins, Duvauchelle Bay. Woodend-Wai-kuku, Mount Somers, Methven. Rakaia. Mayfield. Eiffelton. Coldstream, Tin-
wald. Hinds. Lauriston-jßarrhill. Ellesmere and Darfield sub-branches. Bridge parties were given in aid of the appeal by Mesdames F E. Graham and A. M’Killop, Mesdames J. F. and It. Cracroft Wilson, and the Plunket Nurses’ Association. Donations were also received from Mesdames J. Deans, Henry Wood, Mr and Mrs Pickering, Mr P. Coleby and a Melbourne visitor. In all, the fund now stands at almost £2OO, with many donations from other branches and sub-branches to come in.
