ALARM DEFIES POLICE.

The short-circuiting of wires in a burglar alarm in the premises of Tucks, Ltd., grocers, Colombo Street, Sydenham, caused a commotion about 3.30 am. to-day. Police arrived and found that everything was in order, but they w-ere unable to stop the powerful siren. The proprietor was communicated with and when he arrived switched off the alarm, allowing. the neighbours to resume their disturtyd sleep.
