BOXING.
National Championships Are Allotted. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, May C. Advice has been received by the Southland Boxing Association that the New Zealand Boxing Council has allotted the annual Australian and New Zealand* championships to Invercargill this year. The tentative dates are October 8 and 9. Parker Beats Lister. Per Press Association DUNEDIN, May 6. Eddie Parker (12st, of Timaru) beat Harry Lister (list 81b, of the West Coast) by a narrow margin of points in a fifteen-round contest last evening. There was a large attendance, and a fast and scientific exhibition of boxing was provided. Parker’s superior ringcraft gained him the decision. Lister made the fight most of the way, and th are was a good deal of clinching, in which the West Coaster landed some telling blows. Parker was more at home in distance fighting
