FORBURY TROTS.

Further Rain Makes Holding Going Certain. DAY FOR MUDLARKS. (Special to the " Star.”) DUNEDIN, May 7. More heavy rain fell during the night, but the weather appeared to be clearing after breakfast this morning. As the forecast was favourable, it seems likely that the Forbury Park Trotting Club will be able to-mor'ow to decide the programme which had to be postponed on Saturday. Inspection of the track yesterday showed it to be in a very bad state, and the rain since has prevented any improvement up to the time of writing. It must, at best, be holding to-morrow. In the circumstances the form of last Thursday, when the going was heavy, should prove the best guide. Horses that got into the • money on the first clay are likely to do so again. Waress goes well on any state of track. Wet or fine, Peter Locanda will be favourite for the Farewell Handle:.p. Hakatere, Grand Finale, Avernus, Ronald Derby, Fologda and Queen Author are others who go very well in the mud. The programme is:— 11.45 a.m. TAHUNA HANDICAP, of 125 sovs. Unhoppled trotters; class 3.45. One mile

WEST COAST RACING. Dates for Next Season Approved. Art- T. E. Coates presided at the monthly meeting: of the committee of the Greymouth Jockey Club. The New Zen land Racing Conference advised that the annual conference would be held on July I.*? at Wellington and asked clubs to forward anplicntions for dates in time for consideration at the meeting. The conference drew the attention of the committee to the fact that the penalty was mandatory for interference, crossing and jostling, foul and careless riding: and that the penalty must be suspension or disqualification. Fines or cautions in such cases did not comply with the Rules of Racing. The Racing Conference notified that Ar. Conza’s conditional trainer’s license bad been extended to July 31. The programme for the Greymouth Jockey Olub’s meeting on June 0 was approved. Anplicatinr* for the following dates Westland Racing Club—Wednesday end Thursday, December 26 and 27. mr.4.
