Aliss Edna Brumby, Invercargill, arrived on Saturday evening to spend a holiday in Christchurch. She is the guest of Airs T. Green, Longfellow Street. Dr Tessie Craig, who arrived from the West Coast recently on a visit to her sister, Dr Florence Craig, will leave Christchurch to-day for Timaru. Air and Airs L. 11. Alirams, Dunedin, are visiting Invercargill. Air F. St J. Parson, of Christchurch, is accompanying them. Dr and A[rs J. D. Gresham, Gore, and Mrs J. T. Air and Airs E. C. Latter, Cloudy Ranges, Kaikoura, are visiting Christchurch. Airs J. Wickenden and Aliss Elaine Wickenden, Armagh Street, left or. Saturday evening for the North Island where they will spend a short time before leaving for England by the Rotorua. Air and Airs J. N. Armour and Alis. l Wynnis Armour, Invercargill, are the guests of Air and Airs F. W. Gresham Innes Road, for the marriage of theii daughter, Betty, which took place this afternoon. Airs David Gillies arrived in Christ church on Saturday morning and spent the week-end in Ashburton. She came to Christchurch to-day for the wedding of her son, Air Alan Gillies, to Aliss Betty Gresham. Airs E. C. Levvey, Invercargill, arrived in Christchurch this morning to spend three weeks’ holiday before leaving for Auckland, where she will bid bon voyage to her daughter, Aliss Yvonne Levvey, who will sail by the Alariposa on June 2 for America. Airs Jascha Spivakovsky, an Adelaide girl, who met her famous husband in Berlin in 1926, is delighted that work at the Alelbourne University Conservatorium will keep him in Australia for the greater part of the year. Airs Spivakovsky is waiting for the English law to let Englishwomen married to foreigners retain their own nationality for, as the Russian law does not deprive a wife of her nationality, and under Australian law she assumes that of her husband, she says that at pre sent she has lawfully no nationality at all.
