CROSSING MENACE.

Comment by Coroner at Inquest. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, May 4. In returning a verdict of accidental death, with no blame attachable to anyone, regarding a level crossing fatality at Waikiwi, in which Henry G. Brass, stock buyer, was killed, the Coroner (Mr Levvey, S.M.) remarked: “ This is another of a series of very regrettable accidents which have been happening at level crossings. Visibility from the road is undoubtedly bad. I think I should draw local bodies’ attention to the section of the Public Works Act which empowers such bodies to have obstructions removed, so as to provide a clear view of crossings. ”
