Bluff-Melbourne Shipping Service. The announcement of the inauguration of the Bluff-Melbourne shipping service at the end of the year was discussed at last evening’s meeting of the council of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, and it was decided to make strong representations to the Union Steam Ship Company with a view to the inauguration of the service in October, when the Melbourne Centenary celebrations will begin. The chamber also decided to co-operate with the southern committees which are moving in the same direction.
