HOARD OF GOLD FOUND.

CALCUTTA, May 2. A poor woman digging in some ruins near Nominabad, an ancient military encampment, found a brass vessel filled with gold coins valued at nearlv £4OOO. She and her husband melted the gold into bars. Their sudden accession of wealth, however, roused the suspicions of the police, who arrested the couple. It is alleged that they gave the officials hush money. The latter have been suspended pending an investigation.
