A POPULAR BALL.
St Andrew’s Old Boys’ Football Club. AMUSING BALLET PERFORMED. Appropriate to the occasion was the amusing football ballet which was performed at the St Andrew’s College Old Boys’ Football Club’s annual dance, hjeld at the Winter Garden last evening As usual, there were a large number present, who thoroughly enjoyed the antics of eight of the old boys clad in football jerseys and ballet skirts, and led by Miss Peggy Holmes. Miss Holmes also did a solo dance in football costume, which was a great success. The Football Club’s dance is a popular one with many of the young people in Christchurch, and this year’s ball was voted by all to be as enjoyable as, its predecessors. The guests of honour were Mr A. K. Anderson, head master of St Andrew’s College, and Mrs Anderson, and Mr W. A. C. Macdonald, president of the College Old Boys’ Association, and Mrs Macdonald. Mrs Anderson wore an attractive frock of amber red crushed velvet with a rucked coatee to -match. Mrs Macdonald was in deep ageratum blue lace inset with waterfall flares in bustle effect. Representatives of the High School Old Boys and Old Collegians’ football clubs were also guests of the committee. Messrs L. Fairbairn (honorary secretary), H. W. Thompson (club captain), L. A. Lilley and E. L. Hatherley formed the dance committee responsible for the arrangements. Music for the dancing was supplied by the BaileyMarston orchestra. Winnie Watson, Dorothy Kernahan, J.
