“THE INVISIBLE MAN.”

“ Carolina ” will be shown finally tomorrow night at the Grand Theatre. Those who like the unusual in entertainment should see the talking-screen version of H. G. Wells’s romantic thriller, “ The Invisible Man,” which will begin a return season at the Grand Theatre on Saturdav, for the film provides thrills of a new kind. Although the theme is in the main somewhat sad. the drama is relieved by many delightful touches of spontaneous comedy. Pyjamas go to bed with, apparently, no man inside them; a shirt dances a jig: a pair of trousers hop along the road; glasses, bottles, fire tongs and even a lighted cigarette are suspended in the air in this unique film : and all the time the beholder can sense the presence of the “ invisible man.” Chief acting honours must, of course. go to Claude Rains, an actor with the ideal voice for the role of the phantom Wells character. He is grim haggard and realistic (if such a word can be used to describe the part) as the invisible man Box plans at the DJ.C.
