TELEGRAPH CHARGES.

Protest by Christchurch Importers. lhe importers’ section of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, at a meeting this morning, passed a resolution protesting against the regent increase m telegraphic charges, and decided to forward the resolution to the Importers Federation in Wellington for action. It was stated by a number of business men present at th e meeting that in their own experience the increased charges had forced them to curtail their use of telegraphic facilities m order that the expense of doing business should not be unduly increased.
