ASSISTANT PILOT.
Aucklander Gets Position in Canterbury. (Special to the “ Star.”) ASHBURTON, April 13. The general committee of the Canterbury Aero Club met in Ashburton this evening, when there were present: Mr J. C. Guinness (president), Sir Bruce Stewart, Messrs J. J. Busch, D. C. Crozier, K. R. Johnston, J. R. “Richardson, J. H. Miller, P. R. Turner, F. W. Johnston and W. H. Williamson. The financial statement disclosed investments to a total of £4870. A flying fee since the beginning of the financial year had totalled £I9BO. Five new members were elected, two being trainees. Consideration was given to twelve applications for the position qf assistant instructor to the club and Mr R. A. Kirkup, of Auckland, was. appointed. Mr Kirkup has had 800 flying hours with eleven types of aeroplanes and holds a “ B ” license and an instructor’s certificate. /
