Lilac Frocks for the Bridesmaids. i-jobbslbashford. The Sydenham Methodist Church 'as the scene of the wedding recently E Alice Dorothy, only daughter of Mr nd Mrs F. Bashford, of Sydenham, tid Andrew Ernest, eldest son of Mr nd Mrs A. E. Hobbs, also of Sydenam. The ceremony was performed by I® Rev Ray Richards. The bride, who was given away by er father, wore a gown of bridal satin lade on classical lines. Angel skin ic€ formed a scalloped yoke and joini _the elbow sleeves of satin in a sealed flare to the wrist. The skirt, ith inset godets, fell in soft flares to f ankles. Her beautiful embroidered il was arranged with a circlet of fcnge blossom and formed a train. Se a sheaf of belladonna lilies. Miss Gwendoline Oliver and Miss Ima Moses, the two. bridesmaids, ere dressed alike in frocks of lilac gandie made with fully puffed feves, and tight-fitting bodice with i unusual square neckline edged with ruffle. The skirts were inset with 'odets trimmed with frills at the knees, 'hey each wore sashes of velvet to bne with their frocks, and toques of ink lace trimmed with lilac organdie etalr. They carried Victorian posies i shades of pink to tone. The charmng flower-girl, little Inez Hobbs, sister f the bridegroom, was dressed the ®*oe as the bridesmaids, and carried p old world basket of pink-shaded owers. Mr Raymond Hobbs attended is brother as best man. After the wedding, a reception was eld in the Cadena tea rooms, when Irs Bashford received her guests in a mart fawn costume, with a hat to one. She also wore a shoulder spray l apricot-shaded roses. ; The bridegroom’s mother wore an .ttractive frock of wine crepe de chins ;ith trimmings of beige, and a beige -It hat. She wore a shoulder spray f wine red roses. GRIGG—BLYTH. The marriage was solemnised at St ohn s Church, Dannevirke, of Brenda lary, youngest daughter of Mr and Irs Hugh Blyth, Waitahora, Danne--irke, to Roger Christian, second son •f Mr and Mrs Edward Grigg, Meadow Bank, Blenheim. The ceremonv was >erform*d by the Rev G. B. Stephenon. The bride, who was given away by «er father, wore a beautiful gown of .archment-tinted lace. The bridesmaids rere Miss Kathleen Crampton, cousin if the bride, and Miss Patty Grigg, he bridegroom's sister. Their frocks vere of parchment silk net, with little :oats of geranium velvet. The best man was Mr Hugh Grigg, and the [roomsman Mr T. Blyth. FENSOM—EVENDEN. The wedding took place at Holy Trinity Church, Kumara, on Wednesday afternoon of Isobel Margaret, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles E.

Evenden, to Albert Joseph, only son of Mr and Mrs Albert Fensom. The Rev H. S. Hamilton officiated. The bride wore a charming gown of white satin. Her long veil was relieved with orange blossom and she carried a beautiful bouquet of roses. She was attended by her sister. Grace, who, as bridesmaid, wore a blue elephant crepe frock, with hat to tone. Little Gracie George, the flower-girl, was dressed in pink satin. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Walter Evenden (brother of the bride) as best man. On their leaving the church the " Wedding March ” was played by the bride’s cousin. Miss F. Evenden, and bride and bridegroom passed through a guard of honour of Girl Guides. A reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents.
