BRIDGE AND 500 PARTY.
[For St Matthew’s Guide Committee. A LARGE ATTENDANCE. St Matthew’s Sehoolrpopi, St Albans, was the scene on Thursday evening of an enjoyable bridge and 500 party held to augment the funds of the St Matthew’s Girl Guide Committee, which looks after the brownies, guides and rangers. Flag 500, under the direction of Mr S. Dickson, was played in the hall, while Mr H. J. Cole conducted the bridge .in the new kindergarten room. With big fires and many bowls of flowers, the rooms presented a pleasant appearance. Prizes for 500, which were kindly given by Mr Laurence Wilson, were won by Mrs and Miss Jackman and Mr Rundle. The prize for the highest score in bridge was won by Mrs A. A. Mitchell, the booby prize by Mr T. Penny, and the lucky number prize by M r G. Tench. The committee which was responsible for the success of the evening included:—Mesdames J. F. Feron, S. E. Banks, A. M. Mollison, F. G. Watson, S. Dettmer, Lilly, Quartermain, Grover and L.
