MAKING OF POPPIES.

Over 132,000 poppies for sale on Anzac Day have been made in Christchurch in the last twelve months. This work has given employment to six disabled returned soldiers for most of that time. Christchurch has become the manufacturing centre for many other parts of New Zealand. All poppies are purchased through the New Zealand head quarters of the and the Christchurch branch is required to pay the same / amount as other associations. Last year just ever £I2OO was realised by the sale of poppies in and about Christchurch.
