CHRYSANTHEMUM SHOW.
Arrangements in Hand at Hornby. There was a full attendance of members of the St Columba Chrysanthemum Show Committee, held in the Parish Hall, Hornby. The sub-committee reported that it had received a generous and ready response from the local business firms and residents to the appeal for donations towards the prise-list, and that sufficient prizes had been received to cover ail sections. Sufficient stewards had volunteered their services for the afternoon and evening sessions, and the various stalls had been allotted. The stallholders advised that from the support promised, indications were that the show would be even more successful than last year. The next meeting of the General Committee will be held on April 29. Church Services. The harvest festival at the St Columba. Church will be held next Sunday, when the service will be conducted by the Rev Hubert Jones. At the conclusion of the evening service, the annual meeting of parishioners will be held In the Parish Hall, when the churchwardens' accounts will be received and the election of church officers will take place.
