PREBBLETON NOTES.

Girls’ Basketball Club’s Annual Meeting. The annual meeting of the Prebbleton Girls’ Basket-ball Club was held at the pavilion in the Domain. The balancesheet showed a satisfactory credit. The report showed that the club had experienced a successtul season, entering two teams in the Lincoln Sub-association's competition and winning both grades The A team had won the challenge cup, and the B team had won the shield. The B team also won the buttons at the sub-association’s tournament, and in the A grade the Prebbleton team was the runner-up. It was decided that the opening day should be held on Saturday, April 21, and that the club should hold a dance the same evening to augment * ts , f u n ds. Saunders, C. Hampton and H. Marshal] and the captains; delegates to the Lincoln Sub-association, Misses Bertha Hartnell and Jean Warren; referee. Mrs L. Harris. Harvest Festival. All Saints’ Church, Prebbleton, was decorated on Sunday afternoon for the harvest festival service. Special harvest hymns were sung, and an appropriate sermon was preached by the vicar, the Rev Hubert Jones. The fruit and vegetables were afterwards sent to St Saviour’s Orphanage.
