DEATH OF LABOURER.
Wound in Throat Was Self-Inflicted. A verdict that Simeon Brophy died as the result of injuries self-inflicted, with a razor, when suffering from epilepsy was returned yesterday afternoon by Mr H. A. Young, Coroner, at the inquest into the circumstances of his death. Brophy, a labourer, aged forty-one, whose last address was care of the Public Works Department camp, Lake Sumner, was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital on Friday afternoon, after cutting his throat with a razor in the public bar of the Royal Hotel. He was operated on later, but died early yesterday morning. Constable L. P. Ricketts conducted the inquiry for the police.
