Christchurch beat Wellington by 113 runs on the first innings in the annual match between the two Shipping Officers’ Guilds and won the Kitching Memorial Cup. Christchurch batted first and scored 184 runs. Wellington replied with 71, and had lost six wickets for 92 -when stumps were drawn. The chief scorers for Christchurch were Porteous 47, Buchanan 37, Hill 26 and Ward 22. B.owling for Wellington, Lapworth took four wickets for 4 9 runs. Auckland Championships. AUCKLAND, April 8. The Auckland Cricket Association’s senior championship was concluded in ideal conditions. Parnell, last season’s champions, again took the honours. Parnell won by six points from University. the runners-up. Scores: —North Shore, 308 (D Webb 81, Saunders 59 not out) for eight wickets declared, beat Eden, 307 for nine wickets declared and 26 for none (Mills 16 not out, making his total for the season 1000). Y.M.C.A.. 290 and 73 for one. beat Grafton, 251 (Byerley 61. Angus 55, Spring 49). Parnell, 300, beat Ponsonby, 40 (Al’Coy six for 23, Goodsir three for 12) and 116 (Goodsir four for 32. M’Coy three for 53). King's College Old Boys, 224. beat University, 206 (Graham 79; Andrews, six for S3L Umpires v. Referees. The annual cricket match between the umpires and Rugby referees was played at Hagley Park oval on Saturday, resulting in a win for the umpires by 2 runs (Umpires 127, Referees 125). For Umpires, Hawkins 30 retired. Smith 26. Burgess 21 Mansell 16 not out scored best. Hawkins took six for 31, and Southwood three for 35. For Referees, Beattie 3-3 retired. Anderson 30 retired.
